Memorial Day Weekend

Yowza! After taking a few weeks off, M is back at the keyboard typing away. What a neat Memorial Day weekend. I got my first ice cream cone.

Bubushka, however, was none too pleased because it was 11 at night! The culprit walks away in the rear of the photo!

Grandpa C, unbeknownst to all of us, had a plan. Here he looks blissful as M runs around with her new found energy. Grandpa C now has someone to stay up and watch Smallville/Battlestar Gallactica with him! After the first few minutes of the episode called Perry from Season 3, M got a tad bored. Tom Welling is no Doodlebop! She ran upstairs and pulled out her Cheetah Girls Mat. Wouldn't you know it, but the original gift giver herself, GGma C was in the house! When was the last time you saw an age gap of 85 years seperating a pair on the dance floor?

Other big news from the weekend: My dad got very excited after watching Houseboat with Cary Grant on Telemundo and bought a house boat. To commerate the maiden voyage he took the following family photo. Notice how everyone is leaning into the swell below the boat!

I had become a bit seasick on my first boat trip so, as you can see in the photo above, I clutched an apple fritter the size of my head to scarf on when nausea hit. I became so dependent on this fritter I refused to let it go even during pictures with my new brother.
This upcoming weekend we are having a party on our boat---everyone is invited!

Lately, I like to sleep alot...

In a variety of positions...

And with a lot of different people...

Why sleep so much you ask? Well sometimes I wake up...

And I see this....

Back at Home

I made it home okay and Mom did too.

When I came home the first time, M was still napping...so I had some time to myself.

Then she woke up!

And stole my Mom's water! Hey I'm going to need my mom to drink that!
Everyone is home and safe!

1st Day

Hello world from Ohio! What's hiding under the hat?

A full head of hair!

And hair that styles easy to boot!

I've spent a lot of today sleeping, but I have opened my eyes a few times (They are blue).

See you tomorrow!

Minor League Thrills

After more than a month of waiting, my dad finally took me to a baseball game this year. With my mom11 months pregnant, I hadn't been out of the house in three weeks. I decided to get dressed up for the occasion. My dad said this was too dressed up for a baseball game (and a Nationals game at that).

Trying to go more casual, I put together this ensemble. My mom asked what the tape measure was for. I said it was to measure dad's expanding waist line with hot dogs only a dime. When my mom asked me how many hot dogs dad would eat, I responded as such.

Finally, after agreeing on an outfit, we headed out to the ball park. As the game started, I felt only lukewarm feelings towards the scrappy home team as evidenced by my tepid clapping.

After the first home run, though, my excitement level increased as I joined the crowd in the "wave".

I was absolutely ecstatic to discover baseball lasted longer than 3.5 innings (my previous high). With every half inning, I became more and more excited which culminated in the shot below where I finally saw the end of a baseball game. They are 5 innings long!

What a game! Our team sent the visiting team's record to 4 - 26. To top it off my dad didn't have to be wheeled out of the stadium for over doing the hot dog consumption. Winners all around.

Special announcement to my readers: The next post will be a bit different. After closed door contract meetings, I have decided to share some of my bandwidth with sibling number 2. Check back Wednesday for photographic evidence of Clyde Maurice as he makes his first post!

3...2...1...

My parents might not be ready for another kid. A few nights ago, a "practice" baby was dropped off at our house under the guise of the parents needing a date. Here is a short movie showing how the three hours went:

I give my parents a D+. Neither of us died which usually would be a C, but my mom forgot to give me a jelly bean that night. So D+. Turns out, however, that the parents did go on a date and felt terrible that their baby cried for so much of the night. They felt so terrible, in fact, that they bought us a new bathroom set. Wow! Note to readers: if the parents of a kid named after a reality show villain (not Omarosa) ask you to sit for them --- take that deal!

Despite the new accoutrement in the bathroom, I realized a storm brewing with New Mexico on the way. Determined to pick up the slack for my parents, I started to befriend Celeste.

She gave me ample opportunities for practice. I learned how to test milk for temperature.

I also learned a new technique for burping. Just squeeze them between your legs!

Feeling more confident that I can cover up for my parents deficiencies, I felt much better. Celeste and I hope to see all of you soon!
